What is a giclee print? All Duncan Stewart giclee art prints are produced on artist quality primed canvas and printed using the finest archival inks currently available. This high quality inkjet print allows for a greater complexity of colour and tone. The term 'giclee' is often applied to inkjet reproductions of artworks that were originally produced in another medium. Giclee prints are generally a combination of dye sublimation and ink jet printing producing a non-impact computer-controlled reproduction in which tiny droplets of ink are projected from nozzles onto the canvas. The result is rich in colour with limited loss of detail and a durable print that in the right conditions will endure for many years.
What print sizes are there? Prints are available in two sizes : A1 [841mm x 594mm] and A2 [594mm x 420mm]. As some images (e.g. square) are not exactly proportioned as per A-sizes - in these instances, the image is printed as large as possible within the chosen A-format so that no cropping of the image occurs. If your require another size, we will happily print according to your specific needs. Please contact duncan@duncanstewart for info.
What surfaces/materials do you print onto? Prints are available in two types of material: Cotton Canvas [water-based ink, coated] and EPSON Paper [Hot Press, 330gsm].
How will my item be delivered? PRINTS: All prints are rolled and packaged in waterproof plastic then shipped in a tube. ORIGINALS: For all original artwork, we prefer to individually crate in boxes designed to protect your frame and print while in transit from our facilities to your home. For most domestic and international freight we use the ARAMEX Couriers. This is a Door-to-Door service. We reserve the right to change shipping partners as we determine (eg. international shipments, etc).
What does delivery cost? Freight costs are calculated by volumetric weight or size of the package and can be expensive, which is why we prefer to send items in tubes where possible. However I will work with you in determining the most cost effective means of getting original artworks to you safely. Please contact us if you have any queries - I will do my best to make sure you are 100% satisfied.
What about international import duties? The international freight charges do not include the applicable import duties or taxes that are due upon entry into the destination country. All duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer, and must be paid at the time of delivery. It is difficult to provide an estimate of these costs as the policies vary from country to country.
How can I pay for my artwork or print? Payments can be made online via our PAYFAST payment facility or through our e-commerce solutions such as Instant EFT both systems offer a secure online transaction fee via a third party service provider. We do not accept PAYPAL payments but are able to accept international bank transfers. Remember all orders must be paid in full before any artworks or prints are packaged and delivered. Please note that prices on our website do not include freight charges unless otherwise indicated.
