Description
We live in a self-consumed, consumerist global society. In this painting I wanted to juxtapose the mass produced kitsch we try to satisfy our yearnings with, against the vast backdrop of the infinite space and holiness in Christ.
John Piper eloquently sums up part of malady in his 'Christian hedonist' idea that God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him. I believe it was Augustine who pointed Piper to that and I believe it is beautifully accurate.
